"There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting the people up. When we give cheerfully and accept gratefully, everyone is blessed."
World Red Cross Day, also known as Red Crescent Day is celebrated on 8th of May every year. This day marks the birth anniversary of Henry Dunant, the founder of the International Committee of the Red Cross. They have the principle which shows that everything we do, must come from the heart. We must be grateful to the individuals in the communities, including the "person next door" who are often the first ones to assist those in need around them. With the motive of spreading awareness among the students about this organization, MDPS organized a 'Movie Show' on Monday, 8th May, 2023 for the students of Grades 6 to 8. It displayed how Red Cross organizes events and programs for raising help. The students enjoyed the video and imbibed the spirit of humanitarianism. The students also prepared first-aid boxes under the supervision of Ms. Silva. They were given information about the basic items in the first aid kit with their usage.
The activity inspired young Divinians to volunteer selflessly with love and compassion.
