Indian Navy Day is celebrated every year on 4th December. To commemorate the role of the Indian Navy in the defence of the country, Mother Divine School organised “Meet-a-Thon” for Grades VI-VIII.
This day marks the historical Operation Trident, which took place on 4th December 1971, during the India-Pakistan War. The Indian Navy successfully executed a daring attack on the Karachi port, which significantly damaged Pakistan’s naval fleet and infrastructure.
Students of Grades VI-VIII dressed up as Indian Navy Officers to honor the sailors and officers of the Navy who work tirelessly to protect the country’s maritime interests, both in peace and war. They gave a tribute to martyrs through their speeches. A short documentary was also shown to raise awareness about the crucial role of the Indian Navy in national defence and maritime security.
A handmade greeting card was designed and sent to The Navy Headquarters on this special day. The dedication, discipline, and sacrifice of the Indian Navy personnel deserve recognition and admiration as they continue to safeguard the nation’s maritime borders. It was indeed a day to remember.
